Simple pricing: pay if it works

I have long joked with my wife that I want to start a simple local business, called:

"Five Bucks and a Burrito"

I'll talk with anyone about anything and give a totally fresh outsider perspective,

and all I want,

all I really want, for my time and views and whatever outside knowledge I can provide,

is five bucks and a burrito.

I'll even take Taco Bell. I mean, here in Texas, there are many better burritos to be had, sure,

but I'm not a picky guy. Five bucks and a burrito, and I'll listen to you talk about anything.

That thought, that whole idea, is derivative of this old project of mine: Church Sound Help.

You would have a problem: your board is buzzing, your guitar sounds weird, your mic is cutting in and out,

you need to let musicians manage their own monitor mixes, whatever.

I would pose solutions, or walk through troubleshooting, or suggest low-cost gear that works.

And then you'd pay me if I fixed your problem. Simple. Easy. Cheaper than hiring a 'real' consultant.

And if it doesn't work, you move on to your next avenue for help (a real consultant),

and I'd feel bad and go spend five bucks on a really great burrito. Because Texas.
